Lender Insights: Jenna

Hear what inspired Jenna to become a Lender on One Thread Road; and what her experience has been like up to now.

We were ecstatic when Jenna joined as one of the pioneering Lenders on One Thread Road, offering her delightful collection of sophisticated yet playful pieces to our platform. Her impeccable style not only illuminates the quality of her wardrobe but also reflects a mindful approach to living, attuned to enduring fashion and conscious choices.

With the highest number of listings and bookings on the site, we were eager to learn about her experience using our platform.

1. Can you tell us why you signed up to become a Lender on One Thread Road? What were your motivations and/or your reasoning?

I wanted to be a lender for a couple of reasons. I had previously hired clothing for events and thought it was a great idea to limit what we buy whilst still giving us the variety. One Thread Road tapped into this but made it even more accessible through peer to peer lending, allowing community members and friends to share what we have with each other. I also liked that it means you have access to clothing that is nice to hire for all sorts of events, rather than just the fancier ones like weddings. Doing my bit to help reduce waste and be part of an environmentally driven business was also a huge part of it for me.

2. How easy or difficult was it to get your items up on the site? How much time do you think it took overall?

It wasn’t hard at all to add items onto the site. Once I was set up and on a roll with it, it was an easy process. I had quite a few items so it took a little while to add the details in for each item but it was still such a smooth process and I think it would have only taken me about 1-2 hours all up.

3. You’ve had a couple bookings on the site now. Can you tell us about the experience? Was it an inconvenience? Did your items come back in the same condition?

The lending experience has been hassle free. Items were organised to be picked up and dropped off through good communication and all came back without any issues. Hire fees were paid into my account without any dramas either.

4. Please share any thoughts on the platform or advice to future Lenders who are thinking about joining.

One Thread Road has a great concept which allows us to continue to have fun and variety in our wardrobe without constantly needing to spend money and create more landfill. It’s created a great little community of like minded peers who would like to share what we already have. It’s such an easy process to lend and it feels good for the soul. I would recommend having a look through your wardrobe and start listing.
